AM1021 Sequential Switch

2500 Eurorack Sequencer

This 4HP module expands the capability of the Behringer 1027 Sequencer by adding a three channel Sequential Switch, that can generate sequences of 8, 16 or 24 steps. Whilst the Behringer 1050 can be used for the same purpose, it is a waste of a wide and feature rich module, that can be better deployed on other duties.

AM1021 Module

Description The AM1021 module enables the Behringer 1027 module to create 16 or 24 step sequences, in addition the the usual eight. The 1021 is patched into the clock, CHA, CHB and CHC outputs of the 1027. The combined CV sequence is available from the OUTPUT jack socket and is a serial combination of the CV steps of CH-A, followed by CH-B and then CH-C.

There are two front panel controls; the STEP button (green) manually advances the sequence to the next channel, the RESET button (red) resets the switch to channel CH-A. The RESET function can also be activated by an external trigger or gate signal patched into the RESET jack socket. This enables sequences to end or loop at intermediate steps, between 2 and 7.

A slide switch sets the length of the sequence; either 8, 16 or 24 steps. There are three red LED’s that indicate which channel is active.

Additional Use Cases The AM1021 can be used independently of the B1027 to switch between three channels of audio or CV signals, up to 10V p-t-p. The sequential switch can also be used in reverse where an audio or CV signal is patched into the output, and one of three destinations (CH-A, CH-B, CH-C jack sockets) can be selected by the clock input or step button.

Connections & Controls There are five 3.5 mm jack sockets on the anodised aluminium front panel:

  • CHA, CHB, CHC – Patch to the outputs on the B1027
  • OUTPUT – Combined CV output, patch to your modules!
  • CLOCK IN – Patch to the STEP 1 position output on the B1027
  • RESET – A Trigger or Gate signal to return the sequence to its starting position

The module comes with the 2x M3 plastic spacers, a set of M3 mounting screws, and a standard 10-way Doepfer power cable.

Availability & Outcomes The module was developed in the summer of 2024 and production modules starting shipping from early September 2024.
