This is a replication of the 1046 Quad Envelope Generator from the 1970 ARP 2500. This module was one of the last modules to make it into production, and it proved very popular as it combines two 1003’s and two 1033’s in one 2 unit width panel.

AM1046 Module The AMSynths design contains the original features (except the 1/4″ external jack sockets that control sustain), including independent operation of the modules and added variable stage timing; either the original fast times or 6x longer. Each envelope generator has its own independent gate and trigger inputs, with a manual gate on/off that uses a momentary switch with a red LED.
The 1970 ARP design was one of the first envelope generators to feature what is now standard Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release settings. The original timings are quiet fast with the Attack time having a maximum setting of 2 seconds.
The AM1046 has a second timing setting which increases the maximum times for Attack, Decay and Release. with Attack having a maximum setting of 12 seconds The standard envelope generators have both a normal and inverted output, whist the delayed ADSR has a normal output.
Outcome & Availability I researched the “lost modules” of the ARP 2500 in the spring of 2024 and created a video about them HERE. The module plan includes the AM1046 Quad Envelope Generator, which provides full ARP 1003/1033 ADSR capability with two time settings (fast and slow).
During the Autumn of 2025 I completed the production AM1046, which is available with blue knobs except for the delay knob which is in red.
